On the Way
One of my friends, an accomplished painter and art teacher, once told me to carry a sketchbook and prioritize making sketches over taking quick pictures on my phone. At first I felt intimidated by the effort and time I’d have to put into collecting my memories this way. Eventually the time I’d spend with each scene would turn into the most precious time of my life.
Connecting with each place, people and objects with pure undivided attention represents for me the true and mindful artistry. This is a collection of some of my memories from cycling and hiking trips accompanied by my faithful watercolour travel set. Most of the watercolours were diluted by the water found at the very place I painted the scene.
